DOGS

pranadogspranaDOGS Adopts DOGS in various states of training….

Located in the southwest United States are hundreds – if not thousands – of unwanted dogs. These dogs walk the streets, live at fast food restaurants and under roadways, and overpopulate the struggling shelters.

There’s nothing wrong with them, in fact after years of working with hundreds, we find them to be some of the most fantastic pets. They’re terrific problem-solvers, have strong immune systems and have overcome tremendous hurdles to stay alive and often thrive in difficult situations.

pranaDOGS fosters, trains and adopts these homeless dogs into lifelong homes.Typically staying at the Center for 3-6 months, each dog is trained in basic and advanced manners. Depending on their length of stay, dogs continue through training to receive their Canine Good Citizen Certification and passed through the Public Access Test. Behaviors are practiced in different areas, public and private settings and with different environmental distractions.

Some dogs, who show the characteristics needed, are trained to be Psychiatric Service Dogs. These dogs are taught to preform specific tasks, including some of the following:

  • Grounding (Deep Pressure Therapy)
  • Stopping Compulsive Disorders
  • Alerting
  • Medication reminders
  • Calling for help
  • Opening doors
  • Turning on and off lights
  • Mobility assistance

Dogs stay at pranaDOGS until the right home is found for them. The cost of the adoption is determined by the amount of the training the dog has graduated through. Dogs range in price from $350-$5,000.
