Group Classes


Dog Training ClassGroup Classes provide you with an opportunity to practice skills with your dog with a handful of other people who want to do the same.
pranaDOGS limits classes to no more than ten dogs, providing you with an opportunity to have both one-on-one training and practice time with others.

 

Basic Manners

pranaDOGS Basic Manners course covers how to teach and communicate successfully with dogs. Focused on the six basic cue’s every dog needs to know; Sit, Down, Stay, Go, Come, and With me (heel), Basic Manners provides a solid foundation for dogs weather they’re 6 months or 6 years old.

Classes are ongoing; running every Saturday in the La Plata County Humane Society multipurpose room. New students can start anytime. All dogs attend Level 1 for two weeks before advancing to Level 2. This is a drop-in course so dogs can come anytime their schedule permits. Be sure to check the Events Calendar for days off.

Advanced Manners (Level 3)

Advanced class focusing on practicing with dogs in different environments and with different stimulations present. Along with the basic cue’s, we also work on: relaxing in crowds and with strangers, walking politely past dogs and 20’ stay and come.

Rapid Recall (Coming when Called)

This is an advanced class focused on having your dog come when called. This critical cue can be the difference between off and on leash walks, where you walk and the quality of your walks. In this class we practice a happy, rapid recall through different situations and with different dogs present.

Dog Reactivity

Want to get your dog out more but embarrassed at how he acts? Let us help. Dog’s reacting to other dogs is a common problem and one that can cause a lot of frustration in your relationship, but there are solutions. In this course we practice those solutions in different settings and with different dogs present.

Leash Manners

Sick of getting dragged down the street or ignored by your dog anytime you snap on the leash? Leash Manners class provides tips and tricks and plenty of practice so you can have a successfully, stress free walk with your best friend.
